If you were faced with an attacker and you were armed would you kill him in order to survive. In the knowledge that you may be haunted by the sight and sound of his death, for the rest of your life.

I think I would if I was physically capable of killing him.

I think it would depend on whether or not the attacker was armed. I mean, if I was just trying to protect myself, then I don't see the need in killing the bastard. But then again, in such a situation, and I have been in such a situation, there's no telling how I'd react in the heat of the moment. But if I had control of myself, if the attack didn't seem too life-threatening, then I'd probably just hurt the bastard really bad. We've all heard of those stories where the victim overpowers the attacker and the result is overkill. If I felt like my life was truly in danger though, then maybe I'd do the bastard in without hesitation. But I'm not sure how heavily the guilt for killing a person in such a case would weigh on my conscience. Even police officers experience guilt when they kill someone.

I'm sure I would feel guilty. I'd just have to keep reminding myself that I did it in order to save my own life.

what makes you think to ask sucha question?
I am not sure, what I'd do, but I would definitely try to protect myself and I don't feel that ppl should be punished if they kill someone in a clear case of self-defense or to protect their family.

Yes,I would if it was a life or death situation. Let's just hope it don't come down to that though. Even though he brought it upon himself, I may still feel guilt in the end for what I done.

I'd easily kill someone if they threatened my life in that manner.. if given the choice to kill or be killed, I'd kill first and not even think twice about it. Would I be forever haunted by their death.. no! They got what they deserved. End of story!

If it were a matter of self defense and survival, yes. I would likely regret it, but, though it souns callus, he/she would've brought it on themselves by trying to kill me.

If he had a weapon, and/or I knew he was going to kill me or someone else despite anything (in that he would easily not hesitate to physically hurt us), I probably would kill him or at least try to injure him badly. Otherwise, if he just threatened it, I honestly think I'd be more scared and therefore would not know what to do in terms of defending myself. So he'd have to physically do something for me to react. As for that I would, probably, kill him, I'd really have to not be thinking straight as I don't think I would intentionally do it. My instincts are more to try to get away. So even if I had a weaton, it would probably be used just to immobilize him if I could, and I would likely do that.

Hmmm! I don't think I'd attempt to kill anyone who attacked me. If I was killed in the attack, the murderer would probably get a life sentence when it got to the courts and everything else to go with it, but if I killed him, it'd be me getting the life sentence, not the person trying to kill me. That's how it works in the UK these days anyway. People defending themselves or their property go inside, the thieves or murderers're just left to their own devices, no guidelines or boundaries, so they're free to go and attack someone else.

Yes but owing to the useless justice system in britain, he would be elligible for early release, prisoners rights, including an entitlement to sue for this that and the other.

yes, I would. but only if it were putting me and my familly in danger as well. It would haunt me forever though, knowing that he may have had a familly of his own.

I'm sure the actual physical act of killing someone would bother me tremendously, but I'd do it, no question. And say what you will, but I don't think I'd lose much sleep over the fact that I killed someone and they probably had a family.

I don't think I would kill them, but I would try to hurt them badly so that I could get help.
